Training

DUSAC is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BS-AC). BS-AC offers a progressive training program to equip its members with all of the skills necessary to go from beginners to experienced sports divers or to instructors .

In addition to learning diving skills of the highest degree, DUSAC members also have the opportunity to learn boat-handling, marine radio use, rescue management, diving first aid and oxygen use, nitrox blending and use, dive marshalling, chartwork and more. DUSAC members are also encouraged to train as BS-AC instructors so that they can train future club members.

Wherever possible, training is carried out by more experienced and qualified club members. This means that the only expenses are for course materials, pool rental etc, so costs are very low when compared with commercially-run sport-diving schools.
